Step into the Underworld: Illamasqua Underworld Lipstick Review

I mentioned in my other posts that finally Canada (Toronto specifically) has a Illamasqua counter in The Bay department stores! I have been so delighted because I finally get to see the products and actually play with them, versus gamble and order online.
I have a beautiful lip gloss from Illamasqua called Boost and it is a iridescent purple that is very unique to my lip gloss stash.
I get the most compliments about this amazing lip colour paired over purple lipstick so decided to purchase the matching lipstick to it called Underworld.

Information About Underworld:

Underworld is a iridescent violet colour 

This lipstick can be purchased at Illamasqua.com, Sephora,  and The Bay (varied locations please google)

Retails for $30 CAD at Sephora and $24 CAD at The Bay (The Bay sells Illamasqua cheaper then Sephora)

Here are my thoughts on Underworld:

• Underworld goes on the lips extremely sheer and is very hard to layer over for the ideal coverage 
• The lipstick applies very patchy and emphasizes any spots and fine lines on the lips
• The tube I received had a mouldy like appearance on the lipstick which I was unhappy with
• The lipstick could work if layered with a thicker gloss, or topped over a deeper shade of lipstick, but I like a lipstick that can be worn on its own
• I also found the lipstick very drying on the lips and made it very uncomfortable to wear within an hour 
• The packaging of the lipstick is nice and sleek but you are able to see finger prints all over (not a big deal to me personally)
• This lipstick can be purchased at Illamasqua.com, Sephora,  and The Bay (varied locations please google)
• I returned this lipstick to the counter a week later because I was quite unhappy with it overall, but will probably try some of Illamasqua's other lipsticks in the future
• I was so disappointed in the lipstick that I didn't take a picture I though worthy of it but there are many examples online

Fine like Wine: Marvelous Moxie Lipstick in Lead the Way Review

While strolling in Sephora (my usual) one day I stopped at the Bare Minerals section of the store and noticed they had a lipstick collection. I am not that familiar with Bare Minerals, however I do know they are known for their foundation and skincare!
 I decided I wanted to expand my brand horizons like any regular makeup junkie should and swatched Bare minerals moxie lipsticks all over my little hands.
All the lipsticks I tried felt extremely moisturizing, and where all pigmented.
I wondered why I had been bias and walked past these lippies all along.

Lead the Way

Anyhow I fell in love with a purple lipstick called Lead the way and decided to bite the bullet and purchase it.

Here are a few details about Lead the way:

• Lead the way is described as a "wine" colour, which is a deep purple
• This lipstick has a creamy formula which wears very comfortable on the lips
• There is also a slightly glossy sheen which is noticeable upon application of the lipstick (satin like finish)
• The lipstick is very pigmented and looks opaque once applied (2 thumbs up)
• Bare minerals says they have included fatty acids and vitamins within the formulation that aid in keeping the lips moisturized (Vitamin A, C, and E) 
• Lead the way and all lipsticks in this collection come in a unique lipstick tube that requires a press of a button to slide the lipstick up (quite innovative but a little tricky at first)

• All lipsticks within the collection are formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates 
• Lead the way would suit lite, tanned, and darker skin tones with ease
• Perfect for the fall/ winter months especially since keeps lips moist
• Best worn with a darker lipliner to prevent lipstick from bleeding outside of the lips
• Retails for $23 CAD and can be purchased at Sephora or Bare Minerals website
• I did realize (upon returning home) that it resembles 2 other lipsticks that I have in my collection so returned the lipstick
• It looks like a dupe to Mac's Rebel (my favourite) and Wet & Wild's Sugar Plum Fairy 908 C
• Overall I feel it is a beautiful lipstick, however if you have the dupes I have listed I would save money and look at others in the collection 
• Going forward I will be checking out other lipsticks in the line because I believe I will really love the formulation

Talking that Talk Beautifully: Talk that Talk Lipstick RiRi Fall 2013 Collection Review

I usually am not a sucker for collections from Mac especially since they release one every time you blink and eye, however I am a huge fan of Rihanna's style and music so decided to check this collection out (yes, yes groupie love lol).
This collection is called RiRi Hearts and includes four lipsticks, two eyeshadow quads, some lip liners, bronzers, blushes, eyeliners, and mascaras.
I am a huge blush girl and am currently in the market for some neutral eye shadows however I was a little disappointed in the collection because the colours looked more summery and the tones where not dark skin girl friendly to me. (crying inside)

There is so much hype over the collection but I decided that I was only interested in purchasing two lipsticks: RiRi Woo and Talk that Talk. I ended up skipping RiRi Woo because it looked way too similar to Ruby Woo to me. I ended up purchasing Talk that Talk lipstick.

My thoughts on Talk that Talk:

• Talk that Talk is a deep dark rich plum with a retro matte finish (Mac's new Matte formula)
• Gives an opaque finish on the lips and has great pigmentation and colour payoff
• Formula is very dry on the lips so be sure to exfoliate and moisturize your lips well with a balm/ lip primer
• Lipstick is slightly patchy so you may need to use a lip brush for even application 
• Lipstick stains lips so lasts for hours even through eating and drinking
• The lipstick comes in a beautiful rose gold box with Rihanna's signature and the packaging of the lipstick is beautiful with the same matching rose gold bullet
• Talk that Talk is paired well with dark liners like Vino,  or Nightmoth 
• Lipstick can be purchased at any free standing Mac store as of Sept 26th, online on Mac's website Sept 30th and all department stores Oct 3rd (there was a little confusion surrounding this)
• Lipstick retails for $20 CAD (little more then lippies that are $18 CAD in regular package)
• All in all I am in love with the lipstick and it is making a perfect debut in my fall lipstick collection 
  
• I believe this is the most exciting lipstick in the entire collection
• This lipstick shade is best suited for tan and dark skinned ladies
• If you own Mac's Media, or OCC Black Dahlia lipstick they are very similar to each other (Black Dahlia is a bit more glossy and less matte/ as well as darker)

Flat Out Fabulous Literally: Mac Retro Matte Lipstick Review

Mac cosmetics has released a new retro matte lipstick collection this week and I was very excited to check them out.

Mac has introduced seven new lipsticks and lip liners in various shades and claim some will be permanent to the collection (It is still unclear which ones those are).

The new retro matte formula is suppose to be less drying then the regular matte formula Mac has and wear much more comfortably on the lips.

I had a look at the collection (this past Thursday) and only happened to be interested in one lipstick. I already have Ruby Woo and the other colours seemed similar to other lipsticks I currently have in my collection.

The lipstick I purchased from the collection is: Flat Out Fabulous.

My Thoughts on Flat Out Fabulous:

• This shade is a matte bright plum shade.
• It appears more darker in the tube but applies lighter on the lips
• The colour is very rich and applies opaque
• The texture of the lipstick is very dry
• The retro matte formulation is more moisturizing then Mac's regular matte line
• The lipstick wears/looks beautifully on dark toned lips
• Also pairs beautifully with Vino, Nightmoth, and Currant lip liners.
• You must exfoliate heavily before wearing this lipstick because it shows all fine lines on the lips
• You must also moisturize your lips very well before wearing this lipstick
• The lipstick does get drier on your lips progressively through the day
• You may want to pair with a lip gloss for additional moisture
• This lipstick can be purchased online on Mac's website or in store
• Flat out Fabulous retails for $18 CAD
• This shade will suit both light skin tones as well as dark skin tones very well

Fall is around the corner...time to get Vampy Folks: Fall Lipstick Musts

Hello folks I am glad to finally be back to blogging. I have got my writing juices flowing and back to talk beauty in full effect again. I generally don't wear much makeup in the summer as per Canadian humidity and heat frustrating me in the summer. I tend to be a lipstick, mascara, lipgloss girl in the summer months, so most beauty seizes!
Now that my excuses for a long blog hiatus is out of the way I will begin to mention that fall is my favourite season for makeup, beauty, and fashion.
Now that labour day has passed the light bronzy, golden, nudes will be thrown away and bold, rich, and vampy is going to get the spotlight.
I have flipped through fashion  magazines that have been given the scoop on fall makeup trends for 2013 and to be honest the trends usually don't stray too far from the year before and I believe can be tweaked to your comfort level.

Lipstick colours that will be on trend are:

1. Classic Reds: Classic reds that bring to mind old Hollywood glamour and sex appeal really have never gone out of style for me all year but I know my red lipsticks put in overtime during the fall because they just ooze vamp and boldness and come in so many spectrum's. Now darker ladies don't be scared (scurred) every woman to the lightest of light to darkest of dark has a red lipstick out there made for them but darker woman tend to look best in blue based reds. Also liner is key weather it be a brown lip liner (ex MACs chestnut) or a slightly darker red liner (Sephora's Sangria). The trend this year is to have a dark and sultry red that shouts vamp from the mountains. Easiest way to achieve that again is with the liner paired with it, so save your money ladies and hunt for some chic liners to achieve this look. 
2. Deep Purples/Plums: Rich, deep, sultry berry and purple lips are also on trend for fall. These shade ranges are the ones I find that compliment any woman of any colour as long as she has the confidence to pull it off. Prepping the lips with exfoliator and lip balm are a must because these darker colours leave no wiggle room for chapped lips as the cooler weather comes for a long visit. Plums, purples, violets, berries, cranberry, and raspberry shades will be hitting a high note all fall and even winter, so arm yourself with a few beautiful colours and a good lipliner to make it last throughout your work/school day.  
3. Deep Oranges: Deep, bold, vibrant oranges are also on trend and mimic the colours of fall and the changes of season on the lips. Fall ignores the light washes of oranges that tends to be worn in the summer and ops for oranges that are flashy and chic. For some, myself included orange is a hard one to pull off, but in truth lipstick can be worn no matter what you look like, it just must be paired with a good lipliner that compliments your lip and skin tone. 
4. Dark Brown/ Black/ Dark Purples: I will admit I do't usually go this route because I haven't been totally daring enough to try the 90s style brown lips and the black/ dark purple lips but I admire woman who do it and I love how it looks. There are all lines from Revlon, to Mac that have black/dark purple lipsticks. Just make sure to exfoliate your lips well 

Other trends to keep an eye out for:

1. Rich coloured blushes: Berries, Wine, Burgundy, Browns, Orange
2. Matte faces 
3. Groomed strong brows
4. Jewel and metallic eyes
5. Deep shades of nail polish 

Miss Sultry: Fall Lips in Full Effect: MAC's Hang up and MAC Night moth Lipliner

   Summer days are dwindling and fall is making its return very quickly. With that said my love of all things beauty has been sparked again and I find myself looking at makeup hauls on YouTube, glancing around in Sephora, and shopping in Mac's new collections. I have also been dusting off some makeup in my stash.
My new fascination right in time for fall is vamp everything! Vampy lips, nails, and eyes.
I would say I am familiar with most Mac lipsticks as per the junkie in me, but I was window shopping and bumped into Mac's "Hang up" lipstick (I have never noticed it prior).

Mac's Hang Up

     Hang up is described as a deep red berry with a cream-sheen finish. Due to the finish of the lipstick it has a glossy appearance on the lips and is very comfortable to wear for extended periods. I tend to lean towards matte lipsticks but fell in love with how this shade looked against my skin tone and knew it is the berry I have been looking for. Depending on the liner used this lipstick can appear lighter then it looks in the tube so I decided to get a darker lip liner to get the look I envisioned. Hang up lasts for up to six hours through out the day and stains the lips. Hang up retails for $18 CAD and is in the permanent range so can be purchased anytime. 

Mac's Nightmoth Lip liner

Along side Hang up I purchased lip liner Nightmoth. Now I won't lie although I do have a few Mac liners I try to avoid purchasing them because of there price. However the quality and pigmentation is always what sucks me right back in to making a purchase. I have tried many different liners from different companies (lower price range to higher) and end up gritting my teeth and purchasing from Mac and so far they never fail me. 
Nightmoth is a deep dark burgundy that almost looks black upon application but has deep red undertones. It darkens any lipstick applied and defines the lips very well. Due to the pigmentation of my lips it adds a lot of depth to any look and really adds edge. This liner aids in the wear of lipstick and and prolongs it as well! I also love how it defines the lips and creates a beautiful ombre effect with lighter shades of lipsticks. Nightmoth retails for $18.00 CAD and can be purchased at any Mac counter.

The Key to the Perfect Lip: Lip Liner

If you have been following my blog for a bit you will know that I am a hugeeee lipstick fan and really don't go a day without wearing it. I feel it just adds a pop to the face and some sass to any look.
I am a die hard lipstick fan and with that comes my one tool to achieving a kissable lip look and that my friends is lip liner.
Lip liner is a lip pencil that fills in uneven areas of the lips, defines the lips, and gives lips shape prior to adding lipstick to the lips. It keeps lipstick inside the lip area, prevents lipstick from bleeding outside of the mouth, and provides longevity to lipstick once applied.
There are many different brands of lip liners and different types of lip liners on the market.
Lip liners can be purchased in drug stores, cosmetics stores and department stores. (Yes history class is over)
The reason that lip liners are so crucial for me aside from general uses I have listed is because I have uneven lip colours.
Many woman especially woman of color have this issue and this is the way to combat that issue so that lipsticks blend seamlessly on the skin and look even and pretty.
I try and stick to some colours that go with most lipsticks in my stash. Purple, dark brown, red, dark wine colours  magenta, and fuchsia to name a few. These shades are the ones I keep handy no matter what because they go with everything and either can lighten or darken my lipsticks and make them appear uniform.
I am a die hard fan of Mac lip liners and will review my holy grail liners from them, but they are pretty pricey ($18 CAD a pop) and I needed to find some other liners I could use as well that are much more affordable.
NYX, LA colours, and LA Girl are my go to inexpensive lip liners. They can be purchased at drug stores, online, as well as discount beauty stores globally. They have a great range of colours and actually are pretty good quality. The problem I had with other drug store lip liners where that they where very dry and seemed to just fade right after application.
These brands I find are long lasting (3-6 hours) and don't hurt the wallet at all (ranging from $2-$5 CAD each)
These brands come in a whole array of colours and are worth checking out. Other mentionable brands are Milani, Covergirl, and Jordanna. Keep a look out for these brands in your local drug stores.

NYX Matte Lipstick Review

A few months back I purchased NYX matte lipsticks from Cherryculture.com and was so excited to get them in the mail and wear them. 
The funny part about my excitement is when I got them I actually swiped the lipstick on my hand and put them in my makeup bin and totally forgot about them. Yesterday I was going through my makeup stash before going out and glanced them sitting there untouched and decided to give them a go! 
I'm glad I dusted them off because they are pretty good for $5.00 USD and they are extremely pigmented. 
Now I won't lie and say I'm a die hard fan and that I'm going to run and repurchase because that likely will not happen. I am partial to this product but believe for the pricing I think they are worth a try and are good considering the price. 
I purchased 3 shades: Indie Flick, Shocking Pink, and Merlot.

Indie Flick: Is a bright coral red that looks more on the orange side. It is pretty opaque and pigmented and even though is a matte formula has a nice texture that is not drying. For me personally I don't think it suits me well and am going to attempt to tweak lip liners with it to make it work but so far I'm not thrilled with it. 

Shocking Pink: Is a blue toned bright pink. It is very opaque with one swipe and extremely pigmented as well. Is applies beautifully on the lips and even though matte feels very comfy and moisturizing  On the blogs is is compared to cult favourite Candy Yum Yum from Mac but I personally like it better then CYY because it wears comfortably and suits my skin tone a lot more without looking abrasive. To me the comparison isn't the best but it is a good substitute if you don't want to spend Mac money on this shade. This one is my favourite out of the 3 purchased.

Merlot: Is a plum red that is very opaque with one swipe and like its counterparts are very pigmented. I like this one as well because it applies smoothly on the lips and feels moisturizing even though it is a matte formula. It is perfect for the fall/winter because it has a very vamp look. I like it but feel this color can be purchased at any drug store so wouldn't be something I hunt for when I finish it. 

All in all if you are looking for an inexpensive lipstick that is loaded with color this is a good choice and worth checking out. For me personally I wasn't in awe of the product but believe it is a good bargain and worth taking a look at. I purchased mine online at Cherryculture for $5.00 each. They also can be purchased at Target and drug stores internationally. 

My Lipgloss is Popping! Victoria Secret Lip Rush Lip gloss

When I first started wearing any form of makeup lip gloss was my favourite product of choice. When you are a teenager or college student your budget tends to be limited for makeup and you need to find items that are high quality and low cost. 
Although my holy grail lip gloss is Mac clear lip-glass I needed something more affordable and something I could keep readily available in my stash. 
Victoria Secret is one of my favourite stores ever and they have a lot of sales that keep me engaged. 
Lip Rush lip glosses where selling for $2 each at the semi annual sale so I picked up one and reluctantly tried it out. I am very picky with my lip gloss because all are not created equal and I am looking for a specific look and feel.
 Some  glosses make my lips very irritated, some are way to thick and don't provide the high shine gloss I prefer however when I tried lip rush I was amazed. For such a low price it was comparable to my Mac gloss but was way cheaper and less sticker!  Below is an outline to my personal pros's and con's of Victoria Secrets Beauty Rush lip glosses.

Pros's 

•  Lip Rush lip glosses come in many different flavours and tints
• There are a few that come infused with sparkle (not the abrasive tacky type)
• They have clear glosses with no sparkle
• Very inexpensive and high quality
• Very nice scents that are not overbearing
• Readily available online for $9 USD each/ 2 for $15 USD/ 4 for $20 USD 

Cons

• May bother you if sensitive to scents 
• Do not have much color payoff looks sheer upon application
• Comes in a squeeze tube vs doe foot applicator

All in all I recommend trying these out if you are looking for an inexpensive lip gloss that can be worn alone or on top of lipstick. 

Do keep in mind that the packaging has also changed slightly from the pictures I have posted. 

All Nude: Nude Lipsticks and Gloss

So in previous posts I have covered all bold lip colours such as pink, reds, and purples but it is time to focus on nudes. Nudes are great for wear when you are wearing bright coloured eye looks or you just want a quick low maintenance look. 
Now nudes may seem like an easy breezy subject but the fact it takes a little more effort to find the perfect nude for every complexion. 
For lighter skin tones nudes that are light brown, light mauve's and pinks are the most complimentary. 
For ladies with deeper skin like myself some nudes can look ashy, stark and weird all together. Nudes that have brown, peach, or mauve shades and undertones are the most complimentary.
Lining your lips with a light brown, burgundy or dark brown lip liner can provide definition on the lips, can down play some of the colour of the lipstick and can appear much more wearable. The truth is a good liner can save the day with any lipstick. Also sticking with a matte formulation, formulations that have slight shimmer or adding a nude gloss can also enhance a nude lip instantly. I have put together some of my favourite nudes.

• Revlon Lip Butter- Brown Sugar:  is a creamy, buttery lip balm that has a warm brown shade with yellow undertones. It is formulated with some shimmer so is very wearable for deeper tones. It is so creamy and comfortable on the lips and can be paired with a lip gloss for extra pop. It can be purchased in drug stores globally and retails for $7.99 CAD
• Mac- Velvet Teddy: is a matte lipstick that is creamy. This lipstick is a pink beige shade and is very wearable on all pigmentation's when paired with a light or dark lip liner. Even though it has a matte finish it wears very comfortably on the lips and looks great paired with a lip gloss or alone. This lipstick has no sparkle so looks great with colourful makeup. It can be purchased at Mac counters or online for $18.00 CAD.
• Mac- Faux: is a muted mauve pink that has a satin finish and wears very comfortably on the lips. It is a little different from the typical nude lipstick because there is a slight pink in it. It wears beautiful especially paired with a dark brown liner. It can suit both lighter skin tones as well as deep tones when paired with the right liner. It has no sparkle in it so can be paired with bolder eyes and colours. This lipstick can be purchased at Mac counters or online for $18.00 CAD.
• Korres Cherry Lip gloss- Golden Brown: is a shimmery gold/champagne coloured lip gloss that is nude and adds extra punch to a nude lipstick or can be worn all alone. It is infused with cherry oil that hydrates the lips and vitamin E and C.  Also contains no parabens or sulfates or synthetic fragrances. This lip gloss can be purchased at Winners, Marshalls, and Sephora. Retails for $22.50 CAD
• Mac lip glass- Viva Glam V: is a neutral pink lip-glass that wears beautifully alone or paired with a nude lip-glass  This is my favourite lip-glass by far and also is a part of Mac's Viva Glam campaign that donates all proceeds earned towards the fight against AIDS. Retails for $18.00 CAD and can be purchased at Mac counters or online.
• Mac Cremesheen glass- Over indulgence: is a warm peachy brown that is creamy and opaque  It is great worn alone on the lips as well as paired over lipstick. It is very wearable on lighter skin tones as well as deeper skin tones. It can be purchased at Mac counters or online and retails for $23.00 CAD

Pretty Unicorns and Bold Colours: Spotlight Lime Crime Makeup

I have been trying to get out of my comfort zone and dabble with other products that I have heard a lot of buzz about and have never tried. My addiction to makeup and lipsticks is very serious but some of the colours out are not as bright and fun as I wish, so I have been researching other Indie brands. 

 I am also big on companies who pride themselves on using rich ingredients and are health conscious  This is where I bumped into the Pink, purple and Unicorn-ed brand Lime Crime. 

Lime Crime is a vegan friendly, cruelty free cosmetic company that sells out the box lipstick shades and out of this world pigmented lipsticks. The owner is a blogger that makes claims she was unable to find lipsticks as bright and bold as she liked so created her own. 

I ordered 2 lipsticks and 1 lip gloss one day during a snow storm and was happy to see a purple unicorn box come in the mail for me within 2 weeks. The packaging is to die for and the lipstick even nicer. 

For me personally I am not daring in terms of the colors I will purchase but Lime Crime sells all colours over the rainbow in terms of lipsticks. They have bold colors like yellow, green, and Lilac and wearable colors such as red, orange, and purple. The website has a helpful coloring chart that provides a guide that shows customers what shades are most complimentary on different skin tones. 

 I stuck with wearable shades and picked up Countessa Fluorescent and Centrifuchsia lipsticks and Carousel Gloss in Present. 

• Countessa Fluorescent: Is a bright bubble gum pink and has slightly blue undertones. It is very pigmented and wears very comfortably. It can be a little tricky for deeper skin tones but with a good liner it is very wearable and can be toned down with a gloss. It lasts up to 5 hours. Retails for $15.99 USD
•  Centrifuchsia: Is a darker pink that is smooth as butter and applies to the lips very opaque and wears comfortably. It looks beautiful on all skin tones and wears for up to 8 hrs. Retails for $15.99 USD
• Carousel Gloss in Present: is a liquid lipstick loaded with glitter. This color is a dark berry with magenta glitters.  For me I personally wear it as a gloss and top it over lipstick but it can be worn alone and is very pigmented. Retails for $16.99 USD

Fuchsia Flash: Fuchsia Lipsticks & Glosses to add some Pizzazz

It is quite obvious that I am a lipstick junkie so lets not even go over that. I challenge myself to have a variety of shades and hues that fit my many different moods. As we step closer and closer to the warmer weather (I can almost feel it) I am going through my makeup storage and pulling some shades I have not touched in a little while. I was a bit inspired to write this blog because I have touched on the typical colours most woman see as cult classics: red, pink, and purple but thought hey what about fuchsia? 
Fuchsia is one of those colours I find to be flattering of all woman of different pigmentation and skin tones. It is almost that vixen color that is a nice blend of pink and red but stands out on its own as being pretty bold and sexy with some spunk! What woman doesn't want to feel a little spunky right? I have several different brands of lipsticks but I focused some of my favourites that never get old.

• Mac Girl About Town: Girl about town is a flirty dark fuchsia that is blue based. It has a creamy amplified finish and is extremely pigmented on the lips and wears comfortably for hours. This lipstick can suit the palest of woman to the darkest skinned woman and look stunning. Retails for $18 CAD and can be purchased at any Mac counter or on Mac's website
• Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics (OCC) Anime:  is described as a neon pink on OCC's website but comes out as a lighter fuchsia color on pigmented lips like mine. It is extremely opaque and a little goes a long way on the lips and should be applied with a lip brush. This also is stunning on all woman of all shades. Retails for $22 CAD and can be purchased on OCC website, Sephora, and some theatrical makeup stores
• Revlon Raspberry Pie: This lip butter on  Revlon website is described as a dark raspberry pink but again with darker pigmentation on the lips it comes out appearing . This is such a nice formulation and Revlon has hit the mark with these lip-butters that feel like coloured lip balms. The pigmentation is deep which was unexpected to me and the texture smooth. Retails for $7.99 and can be purchased in any drug store internationally
• Lime Crime Centrifuchsia: is a beautiful darkened pink/ fuchsia that is absolutely smooth like butter that wears long on the lips and adds a slight stain as well. It is  beautiful on all woman of different skin-tones. The bonus is that ingredients in the lipstick are vegan. Retails for $18 USD and can be purchased on Lime Crime's website or on Amazon.com 
• Mac Gimme That! Lipglass: This is a limited edition lip glass that Mac released in there Dare to Wear collection. (they will likely re-release it eventually like they typically do) Gimme that is a bright fuchsia that has a slightly dark red tone and beautiful micro sparkles that can not be felt on the lips. Anytime I wear this paired with one of the other lipsticks I get stopped by woman asking me what I am wearing. It wears a little sticky (I like that) and is very opaque and pigmented. Retails for $20 CAD 
• Victoria's Secret Beauty Rush lip gloss in Tiny Bubbles: This lip gloss is a shimmery dark fuchsia  that wears beautiful and sheer on its own but adds some umph to any of the lip products I have listed. Don't sleep on Victoria Secret lip gloss because in my opinion they are one of the best and are pretty reasonable especially during semi annual sales! Retails for $6.99 CAD and can be purchased in Victoria's Secret stores or online.

I've been Bitten: Bite Beauty Matte Cream Lipstick: Pastille Violet - Bright Vibrant Pink

Bite Beauty Lipstick Pastille Lilac

It is not to often I try out a new brand of cosmetics without going postal and researching it down to its bones. However over the weekend I was feeling myself and decided that I would take a walk on the wild side and try out a brand I have heard nothing about before.

I walked into the store and saw that they had restocked this brand called Bite Beauty and had all the colors of the line in full and samples galore. I noted instantly that Sephora made sure to point out that this brand came formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals and phthalates and was very excited. I am trying to take note of brands that are formulating products without harmful ingredients and really love the idea and try to support them. 

As I was debating shelling out the money for this unknown lipstick line that happens to be organic I glanced at the corner of my eye and saw this beautiful color called: Pastille Lilac. Without hesitation I picked it up and it was in my basket preparing for its new home. This color is so pretty and is described as a bright pink with lavender/Violette undertones with a blue base. 

This lipstick is fabulous! It comes in a matte formulation that actually is very moisturizing and comfortable on the lips and wears for hours, even through eating and drinking. It does have a slight gloss that I enjoy and have never had on a matte lipstick prior and it just wears on the lips beautifully.

The packaging is slightly unusual, and comes in a grey rubbery tube with a funny shape. The symbol for the company is engraved in the lipstick giving it a unique and luxurious look. 

During my research I found out that this is a Canadian company that manufactures in downtown Toronto so was even more elated. (Must support my fellow Canuks). 

By the time I got home and inspected tube of lipstick I noted that these lipsticks are organic and made of 100% food grade ingredients. (Good enough to eat they claim). 

The lipstick is of great quality and the product has turned me into a believer. This is a definite must have for lipstick junkies like myself. Bite Beauty can be purchased at Sephora and retail for $28 CAD.
