Rose Gold Perfection: Becca Rose Gold Shimmer Skin Perfector Review

For the latter part of the year I have been very interested in stepping out of the box with product ranges I purchase and been opening my eyes to cosmetic lines that offer superb pigmentation and higher quality.
 I took an unexpected visit to the Downtown Sephora in Toronto and with the blink of an eye I noticed the line Becca on the shelf.
I don't personally know a lot about Becca but what I can tell you is that they have a varied shade range especially for dark skin and offer a product line to create natural flawless looks.
I had previously saw a review (the thing that gets me in trouble) on Becca's highlighters and decided to test out a few in store.
They are absolutely beautiful and I saw a limited edition rose gold highlighter was on display and I grabbed it faster then you can say hello! A few details and my impression on the skin perfector are below.

Details

• Becca describes this product as a shimmering skin perfector that provides luminosity in any light
• Becca uses a unique process for their highlighters whereas they don't press dry pigments together (which is typically done) they blend pigments with liquid binders which provides a creamy texture and beautiful pigmentation
• This rose gold shimmer is combined with warm toned coppers, golds, rose golds and peachy shades that provide a beautiful gleam on the face
• This is a limited edition shade exclusively available for the holiday season
• This skin perfector can be purchased on Becca's website or at Sephora
• This product is paraben free 
• Retails for $46 CAD 

My Impression 

• I am totally in love with this skin perfector 
• It is a product that can be universally flattering on light to dark skin if used sparingly
• Due to the deep pigmentation and smoothness of this product it is easy to go overboard and over apply, so it is great to use a fan brush/stippling brush to apply products on the cheekbones
• The wear on this product is great I found it lasted for about 8 hours 
• I love that there is a beautiful design in the powder itself and the packaging is very sturdy as well. 
• The rose gold color provides a unique look on the skin and provides a beautiful glow 
• I also enjoy that this product can be used all over the body during summer time
• I will use this to multitask as a highlighter, cheek color,  and eyeshadow

Bling Bling!! Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel (Sheer Illuminating Fluid) in Sunkissed Review

Lately there have not been many makeup products that have been wowing me or have made me excited.
However due to me always watching reviews, makeup collections, and reading blogs I always find out about products I have no idea are right under my nose.
Illuminating, highlighting, or bronzing products are my weakness and I feel like I can never have enough (strange addictions maybe?)
When I first heard of Chanel's sheer illuminating product I just couldn't find that much information on it pertaining to how it looked on darker skin tones. However I searched and searched and dug a little information up and went to my local Chanel counter (The Bay) and tried it and fell in LOVE.
I will provide some information about this illuminator.

Some Information about Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel:

• This illuminator is described as a sheer weightless liquid that brightens the skin
• It contains light reflecting pigments that illuminate the skin and provide a natural sun-kissed glow
• This illuminator contains botanicals that are suppose to moisturize and soften the skin
• Chanel Soleil tan de Chanel is oil and fragrance free (so good for sensitive skin as well)
• This illuminator can be purchased at any Chanel counter worldwide
• Chanel soleil tan de Chanel retails for $51 CAD (purchased at The Bay)
• Suits many different skin tones light, tan, and dark skin

My personal Thoughts on Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel:

• This illuminator is truly sheer and weightless on the skin
• Very little product is actually needed to achieve a glowy look (that appears natural)
• The packaging is sleek and you just need to shake the bottle and place your finger on the opening and enough product comes out allowing you to tap it on your skin or mix it into your foundation
• I love the fact that there is absolutely no glitter in the formulation, it just appears as liquid gold 
• This illuminator makes the skin appear to have a natural glow exuding from the inside out
• On my dark skin (NW 45 in MAC cosmetics for reference) I am able to see the highlight and it looks very natural
• This product can be layered for more brighter highlights
• The illuminator can be mixed in foundation to achieve a radiant look 
• Also can be used as a base on cheekbones and powdered bronzer applied
• Can be applied on the temples, bridge of nose, etc (without looking greasy)
• I tend to apply the product with my fingers, or my Real Techniques contour brush, or buff it into the skin with a flat top kabuki brush
• Shows up nice in photography (however don't use too much or you will look insane)
• I wish the bottle came with a pump because I can see getting the last drops out of this product will be a headache
• The frosted glass bottle also will make it difficult to see when it needs to be replaced in the future
• Absolutely in love with this illuminator and would repurchase over and over again

Gold Digger: MAC Strobe Cream Golden Elixer

My obsession with being bronzed and glowy is still in full effect and I was excited when I heard that Mac was releasing a new strobe cream that has a golden shimmer to it in there Temperature Rising summer collection. 

Mac does have a permanent strobe cream that is available but it has a pink/pearl shimmer to it that tends to look ashy on tanned or darker skin, and also has a thick lotion like consistency that makes it a little harder to blend. This new strobe elixir has a thinner watery consistency and is more suitable for people that have tanned or darker skin tones because it plays up on the golden attributes of the skin. This elixir may appear a little scary looking at it in the bottle but when applied to the skin it is easily blend-able and  leaves skin with a natural radiance that makes skin look like it has been sun kissed. 

The formula for this strobe cream is light weigh on the skin and a golden- brown warm natural shimmer on the skin. 

I purchased this product at the MAC store and was lucky I got it all together because they have been selling out like hotcakes. The price is bit steep at $40 CAD but contains 40 ml of product so that will last for a very long time since you only need one or two pumps maximum. This product is a great product that can be used in several different ways. 

I participated in the Temperature rising application in store and the artist placed it on my skin and it looked great and lasted for the evening.

It can be mixed into moisturizer, foundation, or can be dabbed directly on the cheekbones. 

When mixed into foundation it is important to powder your t-zone if you have combination or oily skin because it can look greasy potentially.

I like that this bottle has a pump that locks for easy application and allows for mess free application. 

If your interested in this product I say act fast because they are limited edition. This strobe lotion can be purchased at all MAC counters and on MAC's website. 

Putting in Work -Nars The Multiple: South Beach Product Disappointment

Nothing makes me happier as a consumer then when a company creates cosmetics that can be used in multiple ways. The fact that I can purchase one product all bundled up in a one stop shop is what made me particularly interested in purchasing The Multiple and ending my internal debate over purchasing it.
Nars The multiple is one of those products that have been introduced and allow for use all over use.
This stick is a cream to powder cosmetic that can be used to apply to bronze to cheeks, eyes and lips and provides a beautiful highlight to the skin.
This product has turned into a bit of a disappointment and I had to make a decision on if it is worth the hype, and money. I also debated if truly needed in my collection. I personally love the the consistency of the stick when used as a highlighter, however my issue with it is that it doesn't show up on my dark skin as well as I thought it would and it tends to fade throughout the day. 
I also tried applying it to the eyes but due to the fact I have oily lids the product slipped and slid all over even with a great eye primer. 
On the lips it made them feel a little dry, and I suppose I'm not really into muted lips so didn't find that it could be used successfully or frequently.
 I have tried to apply this product with a brush and directly from the tube and just have yet to get a look I desire that makes me completely content so have decided to return it.

Bronzed to the Bone and Luminized to the Gods: The Balm Mary- Lou Manizer & Betty- Lou Manizer

The last few months I have been on this fresh faced flawless look due to the harsh winters and lack of vitamin D. Now I am in the mood to dust off some products I got as gradis from my work place that I feel are going to add the look I am now going for: Sun kissed and highlighted.

The Balm: Mary- Lou Manizer

I am always in the market for a new brand I have never tried, I always feel like i'm missing on some greatness in the store. I get gradis from my work when customers are happy with your service or you have acheieved some goals (I work in a call center) and we have redemptions with some drug stores and department stores that allow me to splurge on my kryptonite makeup!
I had points build up and strolled into Rexall Pharma Plus(a Canadian drugstore we are affiliated with) and ran into the brand The Balm. I have never really heard of them or paid attention to them prior but I did notice they have the cutest packaging that shows cartoons (derived from the 40's-50s) that are incarcerated for being glam. 

The Balm: Betty-Lou Manizer 

I ended up picking up both Mary-Lou Manizer which is a luminzer/highlighter, and eyeshadow all in one, as well as Betty-Lou Manizer that is a bronzer, shimmer and eyeshadow all in one and have been impressed. I love it when makeup can be used for duel purpose. Ladies don't forget makeup is what you make it, you can turn your favourite blush into a eyeshadow or your faourite eyeshadow into a blush just read the labels and make sure they are safe for the area of your face you wish to apply. Anyhow I will go into detail about each product below: 

• Mary-Lou Manizer: Is a shimmery champagne coloured highlighter that is packed
  

  

  The Balm: Mary-Lou Manzier

  with punch. It has a smooth buttery feeling and blends like a dream. It suits woman with olive to dark skin tones very well and can be applied to cheek bones, cupids bow, eye brow bone as well as used as a blush. I love that it is safe to be used several ways on the face. I just use a little for a subtle glow and it doesn't come across and too shimmery and childish on the face. The compact is cute and durable and has a mirror which makes it great for travel. This product retails for $29 CAD and can be purchased in Rexall Pharma Plus, Sephora, Amazon and other retailers
• Betty- Lou Manizer: is a beautiful bronzy brown that has the exact amount of shimmer needed to bronze and highlight the skin. I was a little worried in terms of the pigmentation and showing up on my face but it really is beautiful on woman of color as well as lighter toned woman. It is smooth and buttery as well and glides on with application. I love again that this can be used to highlight on darker toned woman as well as double up as a eyeshadow or blush. This product also retails for $29 CAD and can be purchased in Rexall Pharma Plus, Sephora, Amazon and other retailers.
