Don't Slip- Don't Slip: NYX HD Eye Shadow Base & Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

So ladies (and gents) you walk out the house for a night out on the town. You put your high heels on, your freakum dress on, and your hair is done. You worked hard on your makeup and it looks beautiful as you step out the door. You get out the car, get in the club and visit the ladies room and notice your eyeshadow is not where you placed it. It has seeped off your eyelid and now is taking a vacation under your eye and in the crease and your beautiful work you did is down the drain for the night. Many makeup wearers may have experienced this, and the warmer your environment the likeliness this is a frequent issue.
Top to Bottom: NYX HD Eyeshadow base, Urban Decay Eyeshadow primer potion

I have found my holy grail product that keeps my eyeshadow on.  No budge, no creasing, long lasting! Urban decay eye shadow primer is hands down the best I have ever used thus far. When I was in my hay days going to soca parties (extremely hot inside) or clubs in the summer time (lack of a/c) this baby would keep the eyeshadow on until I got home to wipe it off. You only need to use a pea size or less for both eyes and let it set for 30 seconds and begin applying your base or your eyeshadow on directly. The base is a white color but when smoothed out over the eye is translucent coloured, so it doesn't change the color of your eyeshadow once applied. This base can be purchased at Sephora, eBay, and other beauty retailers in your area. In Sephora it retails for $24.00 CAD. This product literally lasts me for like a year or more because so little is used and I don't wear eyeshadow daily. This is a must in your beauty bag because it really saves the day no matter what eyeshadow you are using. For the ladies on a budget that don't want to shell out $25.00 for a eyeshadow base I have found something as comparable and very reasonably priced that I use in my kit. NYX HD eyeshadow base.
NYX HD shadow base is a steal! It works as good as UD eyeshadow base and cost a fraction of the price. I got it for $6.00 on cherryculture.com but I now see it in Target and other drug stores as well. It has the same consistency as UD in terms of drying clear and little being used. My only gripe (and was a gripe with UD until they changed to a tube packaging) is that it comes with a doe foot applicator. A tube would be more sanitary especially since you are applying it on the eye. Otherwise it is long lasting and keeps your eyeshadow on through the elements and is reasonably priced for the job that it does. A big steal if you ask me.
There are many other eyeshadow bases on the market that you can choose from. I feel that this is a staple for any makeup wearer because it prolongs the wear of your eyeshadow.
Any questions about these products? Any other eyeshadow bases you use that you think are underrated? Let me know in the comments below.
